iForge Teams

An introduction to the teams that run the space and their responsibilities.

Within the iForge there are many teams each with their own specific responsibilties and tasks. Below is an overview of what each team does as part of the iForge.

3DP

The 3D print team are responsible for the maintenance of the 3D printers and any deeper behind the scenes work relating to the 3D printers to ensure everyone has access to efficient and working 3D printers.

Events

The Events team at the iForge are responsible for hosting and organising various events, workshops, and competitions held at the space. We aim to bring new users to the iForge and increase overall engagement with the student community.

Hardware

The Hardware team ensure that the equipment and machinery in the iForge (except the 3D printers) is kept fully functional and safe.

Health & Safety and Training

The Health & Safety and Training team at the iForge are responsible for the producing informative and engaging training courses for users and reps, as well as being responsible for maintaining a safe and organised workspace and ensuring safe operations of the makerspace.

IT

The IT team at iForge serve a multifaceted role, focusing on both hardware and software support to ensure the smooth operation of the space.

Operations

The Operations team provide backend support and are responsible for managing inventory, establishing rep shift rotas and optimising space usage.

Publicity

The Publicity Team are responsible for getting our brand out into the world. Our goal is to show off the core essence of the iForge to attract current or prospective students and show our best self to external people considering networking with us.

Recruitment & Development

The Recruitment and Development team are responsible for recruiting, integrating and retaining reps in the iForge, as well as developing an inclusive and welcoming community for our reps and users.

Relations

The Relations team are the main source of communication between the iForge and any other outside connections, ranging from CCAs to outside funding.
